Two Escape Injury In Route 100 Crash, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police said one was driver was cited for driving with a learner's permit without a licensed driver in the car.

Two people escaped injury Tuesday when a car struck the back of a tractor trailer on Route 100 and Penn Drive, according to Upper Macungie Police.

Police said the accident occurred at 10:54 a.m. Tuesday, when Yashia Encarnacion, 25, of Allentown became distracted while driving a 2004 Dodge Strata and struck the rear of a 2006 Volvo tractor trailer driven by Glenn Tyrrell, 49, of Bethlehem.

Police said Encarnacion was cited for for driving with a learner's permit without a licensed driver in the car.
