Thieves Continue to Target Unlocked Cars

Police identify two possible suspects after more thefts from cars are reported in Upper Macungie.

Police investigated "numerous" thefts from unlocked vehicles Friday, March 30 in Upper Macungie and have identified "two persons of interest," according to Berks-Lehigh Regional Police.

Police are continuing the investigation and are releasing no more information on the two at this time.

The thefts occurred to a vehicle in the 100 block of Forsythia, two vehicles in the 7900 block of Woodsbluff, a vehicle in the 5800 block of Winterberry, a vehicle in the 6400 block of Fugazzatto, and vehicles in the 6400 block of Ulana and 300 block of Lenape, according to .

In a press release, Investigaor Peter Nickischer stressed that "these vehicles were unlocked with valuable items left inside. ... Lock your vehicle's doors when the vehicle is not in use. Before going to bed, check your vehicles to ensure that they are indeed locked. Do not leave valuables such as GPS units and ipods in areas that are visible to people who pass by."

In the last month, police reported about a dozen , all of which were unlocked.
