Upper Macungie Police warn residents via Nixle alert last week to keep their cars locked overnight due to a rash of thefts from vehicles.

Thefts from vehicles continue to be a problem in Upper Macungie Township.

Last week, police put out a Nixle alert, informing residents of four thefts from vehicles in one day and warning them to keep cars locked overnight.

In one of those cases, Upper Macungie police reported a theft from a vehicle on Lenape Trail.

In that case, loose change and bottle of cologne were taken.

In other instances, police have reported GPS systems, laptops and other expensive items taken from unlocked cars.
