Snowy Weather Leads to Two Upper Macungie Wrecks

Allentown teen hospitalized with head injury following Krocks Road crash.

Upper Macungie police say Sunday's snowy weather was responsible for at least two accidents on township roads.

The first incident involved a teenager from Allentown whose vehicle slid off the highway on the 400 block of Krocks Road around 3 p.m. and hit a utility pole.

Police say the teen sustained a head and neck injury and was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest by Cetronia Ambulance.

The second accident happened a little after 6 p.m. when driver Gregory Fielder, 29, of Breinigsville was headed north on Snowdrift Road and swerved to avoid another vehicle that had apparently spun out on the ice and snow.

This caused Fielder to lose control of his vehicle, which hit a tree on the southbound side of the road and a street sign on the northbound side.

His car sustained significant damage, but Fielder was unhurt aside from complaints of a sore finger.
