A Trexlertown man is accused of stealing electronics worth $9,098 from Lutron in Coopersburg and selling them on eBay.

Former employee, Hugo Victor Ibarra, 37, is charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property for allegedly stealing 36 computerized dimmers known as Grafik Eyes from Lutron.

According to the criminal complaint, on Feb. 13, a Lutron security manager reported an ongoing theft at Lutron. The manager was alerted to the sale of a Lutron Grafik Eye on eBay for a lower price than Lutron sells to its distributors. The manager bought the unit, and checked the serial number against company records. The serial number revealed that it was Lutron’s property and not for public purchase.
