Police Investigating CVS Bomb Threat

Upper Macungie Police say they are conferring with South Whitehall and Allentown Police concerning similar threats to CVS stores in those towns.

Upper Macungie Police are sharing information with South Whitehall Township and Allentown Police following a bomb threat phoned into the CVS Pharmacy at 5801 Tilghman Street.

The incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday, police said, when a caller asked a CVS employee to fill a Green Dot pre-paid credit card over the phone.

Police said the CVS employee refused the request. The caller threatened to "blow up the store," police said.

The store was cleared and order was restored without incident, police said.

Upper Macungie Police said they are sharing information with the South Whitehall and Allentown Police Departments, concerning similar bomb threats at CVS pharmacies in those municipalities. State Police at Fogelsville are also investigating.

Similar bomb threats to CVS stores have occurred in recent weeks and months in many parts of the country.
