Broom Attack, Underage Drinking Begin New Year

State police at Fogelsville report separate cases in Lower Macungie, Upper Macungie.

In the first few hours of 2014, state police at Fogelsville dealt with a fight that allegedly included blows from a broom and a separate case of underage drinking.

In the fight case, which happened around 2am, police will charge William C. Nash, no age given, of the 1200 block of Eagle Street, Lower Macungie.

The police fax says Nash got into a verbal argument with another male, then hit him approximately four times with a broom. The other male is listed as being from Philadelphia. The fax does not say if he had to be treated at a hospital.

Police will charge Nash with harassment, the fax said. The case is not yet listed in online court records.

Meanwhile, at just one minute into 2014, police stopped a car at Routes 100 and 222 in Upper Macungie for an apparent traffic violation.

They said a passenger, Sergio Dominguez Jr., 19, of the 200 block of Walnut Street, Reading, had a 1.75-liter bottle of Ciroc Vodka and showed signs of being drunk.

The fax said Dominguez will be cited for underage alcohol possession and consumption. The fax did not identify the driver or say if there were any other passengers.
