Upper Macungie's new police station opened in August with new chief Edgardo Colon, Lt. Joe Wilson and Lt. Mike Sitoski being sworn into duty, as the transition from the Berks-Lehigh Regional Police force got under way.

The township's new police department, with its 28 officers, went into service New Year's Eve.
