More Incidents Reported at County Special Ed School
State police say string of incidents at Lehigh Learning & Achievement School continued with window-breaking, face-punching.
A spate of incidents at a Lehigh County special education school that included biting, punching and vandalism continued Friday with reports of a student breaking a window and face-punching involving two other students.
Both incidents at the Lehigh Achievement & Learing School in Lowhill Township occurred around 8:30am, a state police fax says.
In the first incident, a 14-year-old Allentown boy was walking down a hallway when "for an unknown reason" he punched a window, causing it to break. A "juvenile written allegation" against the boy will be filed, the fax says.
The other incident involved two 16-year-old Allentown boys. One started a verbal argument, then punched the other boy in the face. The boys were then separated, the fax says.
A harassment charge against the boy will be filed with the office of District Judge Rod Beck of Slatington, the fax says.
Patch reported the following recent incidents at the school, located at 2936 Corporate Drive just west of Route 100 and Claussville Road and operated by the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit:
--An 11-year-old Allentown boy is suspected of punching or biting four people -- a 58-year-old woman from Laurys Station and three males, ages 9, 11 and 14.
--A 14-year-old girl is suspected of punching and biting teachers.
--Dillon Kyle Milburn, 19, was accused of throwing hot soup on a staff member's belongings. Court records show Milburn was charged with purchasing alcoholic beverages by a minor. They also showed he recently pleaded guilty to a charge of conspiracy to commit robbery in an Allentown case.
