Man Found on Road was Shot To Death

Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim ruled Wednesday that man's death is homicide. His body was found Tuesday on Applewood Drive.

The man whose in South Whitehall was shot to death, Lehigh County Coroner Scott Grim ruled Wednesday after an autopsy. He said the man's death is a homicide.

The man, who still has not been identified, is described as white, 6-foot-1 to 6-foot-3 and weighing about 160 to 170 pounds. He is described as being in his mid-20s to early 30s, with short trimmed brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a multi-colored plaid shirt.

Grim said the man will likely need to be identified through DNA and dental records.

The body was found along Applewood Drive, on a bend in the road between Huckleberry and Haasadahl roads, by a South Whitehall public works employee who was cleaning up tree branches after the weekend storm, the coroner said.

Grim pronounced the man dead at 9:51 a.m. on Tuesday.

Anyone who saw any suspicious activity on Applewood Drive between 6 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday is asked to call South Whitehall police at 610-437-5252.

Lehigh County District Attorney Jim Martin is assisting in the investigation.
