Jury: Trexlertown Stabbing Suspect Guilty

Online court records say that Demar Campbell, 28, of Allentown was found guilty of multiple charges in connection with a Feb. 8 stabbing in Trexlertown.

An Allentown man was found guilty of several charges, including stabbing a woman in the abdomen last February, according to a online court records.

Online court records said that Demar Campbell, 28, was found guilty of aggravated assault, simple assault, possession of an instrument of crime, drunken driving, harassment and driving with a suspended license.

Online court records say that Campbell will be sentenced next month.

Upper Macungie Police were dispatched to 1127 Trexlertown Road on a report of a man and woman arguing in the street near a car on the morning of Feb. 8 at approximately 3:38 a.m.

When they arrived, they found Campbell, of 1327 Chew St., and the victim sitting in a running 2006 Mercury Mountaineer. The victimwas crying. She had been stabbed in the abdomen, police said.

According to the arrest affidavit, the victim told police the two had been arguing because she wanted Campbell to take her home and he refused. They had pulled over in the car, police said, and Campbell stabbed the victim with a folding knife. Police said they found the knife in the arm rest of the driver's side door.

When asked what started the fight, Campbell told police that the two had been at a club and that he had danced with another woman, according to the arrest affidavit.

Campbell had been in Lehigh County Prison in lieu of $40,000 bail.
