Hit-and-Run Crash Under Investigation, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police are investigating a hit-and-run crash early Friday on the Route 222 bypass in Breinigsville involving a car and tractor trailer.

Upper Macungie Police are investigating a Friday morning hit-and-run accident on the Route 222 bypass in Breinigsville involving a car and tractor trailer.

Police said a 49-year-old Allentown man was driving a car south on the bypass at 6:15 a.m. near the Macungie/Reading split when a tractor trailer veered into his lane and hit the car.

Police said the tractor trailer did not stop and continued south. The victim could not give a description of the truck, police said.

Police said the force of the crash caused moderate damage to the victim's car.

Police said no one was injured.
