American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley Assisting Allentown Explosion Families

Release says number of displaced people still unknown.

The American Red Cross of the Greater Lehigh Valley said in a release this morning that it is assisting families displaced by a gas explosion and fire that rocked the 500 block of N. 13th St.in Allentown late Wednesday night.

According to the release, the number of families displaced was still not known as of 6:26 a.m. today.

The release said Red Cross volunteers gathered at the Allentown Fairgrounds Agri-Plex Expo Center early this morning to provide snacks, blankets and emotional counseling to area families and residents of the nearby Gross Towers senior center who were evacuated.
