Fogelsville Woman Charged With Retail Theft, DUI

Upper Macungie police say woman left Weis without paying, then drove home while impaired.

Upper Macungie Police say a Fogelsville woman left a township supermarket without paying for her purchases, and then drove home under the influence.

April Bloomfield, 42, was charged last week with DUI, retail theft and disorderly conduct.

According to police, officers were called to the Weis supermarket on Route 100 Wednesday afternoon after the store reported a woman left the store with a hoagie and a cup of coffee without paying.

Weis had gotten the woman's license number, which police say led them to Bloomfield's address.

Police say they found her getting out of her car, where she "exhibited signs of impairment."

Bloomfield also allegedly "began to yell profanities and be disorderly" when confronted by Weis employees, police said.
