Fogelsville Psychiatrist Will Stand Trial In Drug Ring

David Daley, 58, is charged with 33 counts of prescribing medication outside of accepted treatment principles.

A Fogelsville psychiatrist will have to face Lehigh County Court action on charges of illegally prescribing medication as part of a drug ring, according to a report in The Morning Call.

David Daley, 58, is charged with 33 counts of prescribing medication outside of accepted treatment principles and helping patients fraudulently obtain prescription drugs, according to court records.

District Judge Michael Faulkner of Upper Macungie held the charges for trial in Lehigh County Central Court Thursday, the Call report said. Daley remains free on bail.

All of the charges are felonies, according to the state attorney general's office, which filed the criminal complaint in Dauphin County in October 2012.

According to the complaint, Daley is alleged to have furnished prescriptions for Methadone, the painkiller Oxycontin, the anti-anxiety drug Xanax as well as other painkillers to co-defendants.

According to court records, the offenses took place in 2008 and 2009.
