Ex-Amazon Worker Admits Threatening Witness

Reading man admits to threatening woman in indecent exposure case at Upper Macungie warehouse.

A Reading man has admitted he threatened a woman to whom he made sexual advances while both were working at the Amazon warehouse in Upper Macungie last year, court records say.

Emmanuel Giron, 29, pleaded "no contest" Friday to a charge of intimidating a witness, a level-three felony. A charge of terroristic threats was dropped.

Also on Friday, Giron pleaded guilty to a charge of indecent exposure, a level-two misdemeanor. Charges of indecent assault, open lewdness and disorderly conduct were dropped, the records say.

Lehigh County Judge William Ford set sentencing for Feb. 26. Giron remains free on $5,000 bail on the indecent exposure count and $10,000 on the witness intimidation count.

A previous Patch story reviewed the case based on criminal complaints, which said:

The sexual incident occurred Jan. 26, 2013. Giron was arrested the same day, but the criminal complaint was not filed until Feb. 13. And he was not arraigned until March 4.

In the witness intimidation case, Giron was arraigned March 2 -- the day after he threatened the woman.

The complaint says that around 5pm March 1, the woman was in her car on the Amazon parking lot at 705 Boulder Drive. She was preparing to leave work.

Giron at first apologized for the prior incident and asked the woman to drop the charges because he did not want to go to jail.

But when the woman said that she had nothing to do with the charges, Giron told her that if she did not attempt to get the charges dropped, “he will come after her and make her life miserable” when he gets out of jail.

The woman reported the threat to Upper Macungie police the next day.
