Driver Swerves to Avoid Animal, Hits Parked Car, Police Say

No injuries reported in Sugarberry Road crash Monday morning.

Upper Macungie police say an Allentown man hit a parked car early Monday when he swerved to avoid hitting an animal on Sugarberry Drive.

According to police, John Dowdell, 59, was heading south on Sugarberry near Schantz Road around 5:42 a.m. when he saw the animal and hit a parked Ford Focus with his SUV.

No injuries were reported, but the Ford was towed by Faust Towing.
