Bridgestone Firestone Donates New Tires For Local Fire Trucks

Ten donated tires amounted to more than $7,000 in savings for Upper Macungie Township.

Members of Goodwill Fire Co. #1 of Trexlertown, Bridgestone Firestone officials and Upper Macungie Township officials posed for this recent photograph in front of the company's distribution center at 8001 Industrial Blvd. in Breinigsville.

Bridgestone Firestone donated 10 new tires for the fire trucks of the Trexlertown company and the township netted savings of more than $7,000 as a result, according to township fire commission Grant Grim.

"It's wonderful that they do this. It's a tremendous savings to the township," said Upper Macungie supervisor chairman Edward Earley.
