Breinigsville Driver Falls Asleep, Damages Vehicles

State police at Fogelsville say man's vehicle leaves Old Route 22 in Weisenberg Monday night.

A Breinigsville man fell asleep at the wheel Monday night while driving on Old Route 22 in Weisenberg Township and damaged two parked vehicles.

State police at Fogelsville said Jonathan Ray Cox, 21, was westbound at 10240 Old Route 22 at 7:40pm when his vehicle left the roadway. It struck a vehicle owned by Andrew Christo Rainford, 52. The impact pushed Rainford's vehicle into a vehicle owned by Michael Scott Luma, 55.

Rainford and Luma have New Tripoli mailing addresses. Their vehicles were towed by Getz's Towing. But the police information did not say if Cox's vehicle had to be towed.

No injuries were reported but Cox will be cited, police said. The police information did not specify what kinds of vehicles were involved.

Online court records do not list the citation against Cox. But the records say he pleaded guilty to two speeding citations in February 2012 and to a citation for "disregard traffic lane" in July 2011. All three incidents were in Weisenberg, the records say.
