Berks Man Arrested in Lower Macungie Bank Hold-up

Robber demanded money and said he sent an explosive in the drive-thru transaction tube at TD Bank, police said.

say they have captured the man who on April 25 robbed and threatened to blow up the in Lower Macungie Township.

Police arrested Corey S. Angstadt, no age given, of 1231 Beaumont Ave., Temple, Berks County, at 6:25 tonight, but a news release did not say where the arrest was made or whether any resistance was offered.

No additional details were given about the arrest.

Police announced Wednesday that they were seeking Angstadt in the 7:15 p.m. robbery of the 5980 Hamilton Blvd. facility. Angstadt "displayed and identified a device that he placed into the drive-thru transaction tube and sent inside the drive-thru portion of the bank, as a bomb," police said.

Angstadt demanded money from the drive-thru tellers and said the bomb would explode if they failed to comply, police said. An unspecified amount of money was sent to Angstadt in the tube. He took it and drove off in a green Ford F-150 pickup truck.
