Berks-Lehigh Police Investigating Morning Crash

Police say three vehicles were involved with two people hospitalized.

Berks-Lehigh Regional Police said they are investigating a three vehicle accident that shut down Route 222 (Hamilton Blvd.) for a time this morning.

Police say at approximately 7:43 a.m., a tractor trailer heading eastbound struck an SUV heading in the same direction. The SUV veered into the oncoming lane of traffic, police said, where it struck a sedan head on.

Police said the 55-year-old male driving the SUV was not injured. A 34-year-old Breinigsville woman driving the SUV and a 23-year-old female from Mars driving the sedan were taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest with unknown injuries.
