Bank Robber Strikes Again in Upper Macungie

Upper Macungie police are asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect in a robbery Wednesday afternoon at First Niagara Bank in Fogelsville.

Upper Macungie police are investigating a robbery Wednesday afternoon at First Niagara Bank in Fogelsville—the second bank robbery in the township in two weeks.

Police believe the suspect—a white man, 25 to 40 years old—is the same man who robbed the nearby Bank of America in November.

Police said the man entered First Niagara Bank, 861 North Route 100, through the bank's rear entrance at 2:59 p.m., went to a teller and demanded money. They said he did not show a weapon but threatened to use one if he did not get the money.

Police said he walked out of the bank after receiving an undisclosed amount of money and got into what appeared to be a later model silver GMC, four-door Sierra (Silverado), full-sized pickup truck with a factory sticker on the rear panel. Police said the truck was bearing a stolen Pennsylvania license plate: JKE5651.

He fled west in the truck on Tilghman Street, then south on Route 100.

Police described the suspect as wearing a tan sports jacket over a light blue shirt, blue jeans and a blue New York Yankees baseball cap. He was carrying a single strap tan-colored satchel over his shoulder.

Police released surveillance photos and are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with information should call Upper Macungie police or Lehigh County radio at 610-437-5252.
