Allentown Man Arrested On Suspicion of DUI Following Fiery Upper Macungie Crash

State Police at Fogelsville arrested an Allentown man early Friday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol following a fiery one-vehicle accident on Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township.

Police said Brenton J. Feninez, 25, of Allentown was exiting I-78 at 1:04 a.m. Friday morning at the Route 100 eastbound exit ramp when his Ford Explorer left the roadway and struck a traffic sign.

Police said Feninez’s vehicle continued forward after hitting the sign and subsequently struck a concrete barrier. Police said the vehicle caught on fire upn hitting the barrier.

Feninez escaped from the vehicle without injury, police said, and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of DUI. Police said an investigation is ongoing.

Police said Upper Macungie Township fire personnel responded to the scene.

-- State police reported a 54-year-old man was injured Thursday when his tractor-trailer rear-ended another tractor-trailer at on I-78 at mile marker 48.7 in Upper Macungie Township.

Police said Balvir Singh of Chowchilla, Calif. struck the back of a tractor-trailer driven by Dennis Brogan, 33, of Manchester at 9:40 a.m. Thursday. Police said Singh reported not observing Brogan's truck slowing in front of him.

Police said Singh was transported to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest with moderate injures. Brogan was not injured in the accident.
