Firefighters Hurt in Youell's Oyster House Blaze

Fire broke out at the landmark Youell's Oyster House at about 4:30 this morning.

Homes near Youell's Oyster House are being evacuated as what's left of the landmark restaurant is demolished. WFMZ reports that nearby homes were not damaged by the fire.

At least four firefighters were injured in an early-morning fire today that swept through Youell's Oyster House in West Allentown, according to a report on WFMZ.

Fire broke out at the landmark restaurant at about 4:30 a.m., according to breaking news network.

The restaurant has been "famous for seafood" since 1905, according to the restaurant's website. Youell's relocated to Allentown from Easton in 1992. The building had been a stagecoach stop and general store that dates back to the early 1800s, according to the website.

Reviewers on websites Yelp and Tripadvisor call Youell's a "Lehigh Valley institution."
