PSP says several hundred thousand dollars in U.S. currency, more than $1 million in drugs, contraband, weapons and stolen items were seized from criminals last year.

State Police at Fogelsville report setting single year records for DUI arrests, criminal arrests and incidents investigated in 2012, said Lt. Paul Gaspich, the station's commander.

PSP's efforts on local highways resulted in several hundred thousand dollars in U.S. currency, more than $1 million in drugs, contraband, weapons and stolen items seized from criminals.

State police at Fogelsville released the following 2012 statistics:

  • 527 DUI arrests
  • 9,620 traffic citations
  • 13,286 incidents investigated
  • 1,101 criminal arrests
  • 5,104 warnings issued

"These statistics represent an emphasis on proactive enforcement and criminal investigation and indicate the Lehigh Valley is well served by the members of Pennsylvania State Police, Troop M, Fogelsville," Gaspich said in the release.
