159 Aggressive Driving Tickets Issued, Police Say

Upper Macungie Police say that aggressive driving details will continue throughout the summer months.

Upper Macungie Police say they have issued 159 tickets for aggressive driving during a summer campaign to quell such activities.

Police say one such ticket was issued to a driver clocked at 86 mph in a 45 mph zone.

Police Chief Edgardo Colon recently told township supervisors that high-impact "traffic blitzes" will continue, due in part to federal grant money that pays police officers overtime to work additional hours on traffic detail.

A total of 633 traffic tickets were issued in the township during June.
