Does Upper Macungie Support Liquor Store Privatization?

Gov. Tom Corbett unveiled a plan Wednesday that aims to get the state out of the liquor business within four years and generate money for educational grants for Pennsylvania schools.

The plan calls for the auctioning of 1,200 licenses for retail sales of wine and spirits.

On the Upper Macungie Facebook page, one reader had this to say: "I hope it doesn't hurt the local beer distributors. I am not a drinker so it doesn't affect me personally but when having a party, I go to our local guy in Trexlertown, and I would hate to see him go under because of this."
