Obituary: Carolyn E. Bitting, Retired Cedarbook Worker and Goodwill Fire Co. Volunteer

Carolyn E. Bitting, of Breinigsville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.

 

Carolyn E. Bitting, 69, of Breinigsville passed away Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. She was the wife of the late John R. Bitting, who died in January 2010.

She was a payroll clerk at Cedarbrook county home for over 15 years before retiring.

Born in Allentown she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Mary (Kessler) Youse.

Carolyn was a member of Huff’s Union Church. She volunteered at the Goodwill Fire Company No. 1 in Trexlertown and also at Lehigh Valley Hospital. She enjoyed traveling and especially loved Myrtle Beach and the Outer Banks.  Carolyn was an avid reader and adored her grandchildren.

Sons Tracy A. Dietrich and his wife Tracy Ann of Covington, Georgia, Kyle D. Dietrich and his wife Amy of Trexlertown, brother Fritz Bogert and wife Judy of Spring Mills.  Sister in Law Wanda Bogert of P.A. Furnace, grandchildren, Elias, Sarah and twins Keeley & Addison. Carolyn was predeceased by brother Robert in December.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 in the Schmoyer Funeral Home, 8926 Brookdale Road, Breinigsville with Pastor Jane M. Kropa presiding. Call 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday.  Interment will be private at Huff’s Church Cemetery. www.schmoyerfuneralhome.com.
