Charles D. and Adrienne C. Snelling, both 81 years old, of Fogelsville, died on March 29.

Charles D. and Adrienne C. Snelling, both 81, of Fogelsville, passed away on March 29, 2012 at home. The devoted husband and wife recently celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Born in Allentown, Charles was a son of the late Walter O. and Marjorie (Gahring) Snelling. He was a graduate of William Allen High School, Philips Academy Andover, and Lehigh University. Charles was a businessman and inventor, politically active and deeply involved in his community. A lifelong aviator, Charles was appointed to the Board of the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority and had recently retired as the Chair of the Board.

Adrienne was born in New York City, NY. She was a daughter of the late William and Marjorie (Somerville) Angeletti. She was a graduate of White Plains High School in New York and Cedar Crest College. Adrienne was a respected fine arts photographer for many years.

Survivors: Daughters, Adrienne C. Sullivan of Lebanon, PA; Marjorie P. Snelling, wife of Len Caldwell of Philadelphia; Elizabeth H. Snelling of Easton and Dr. Lesley C. Snelling, wife of John Bober of New Canaan, CT; Son, Jonathan C Snelling and his wife Kim of Fogelsville, PA. Grandchildren; Robert Sullivan III; Hunter, Kendall and Jordan Snelling; Meredith and Charles More; Samuel, Henry and Oliver Meeker; Sophie and Adrienne Bober.

Charles Siblings: Brothers; Thomas and wife Elisa of Alaska and Walter and wife Norma of Washington; Sisters, Constance, wife of Charles Noonan, Esq. of Allentown, Marie Wells of Michigan and Priscilla Snelling of Philadelphia; He was predeceased by brothers; William, Robert, and former Vermont Governor Richard Snelling.

Adrienne’s Sisters: Joyce, wife of N. David Thompson of Weston, CT and Lois Angeletti, wife of David Sumner of Richmond, VA.
