Parkland Real Estate Report Card

The real estate market in the Parkland School District continues to improve, with fewer homes for sale and more homes sold than a year ago.

The real estate market continues to improve in the Lehigh Valley, and communities in the Parkland School District are leading the way in the return to a healthier home-selling climate.  Our Parkland Real Estate Report Card shows that 75 homes sold in the school district in August, an increase from the 56 homes sold in July 2012 and the 58 sold last August.  This represents a year over year increase of 30%, which is great news for anyone thinking about selling a home.  There's more good news in the current number of homes on the market, with 73 current active listings, down from 81 in July.  Fewer homes on the market means fewer choices for home buyers, but less competition for home sellers.  Prices are also inching up, with the average sale price in August at $251,000, an increase from $243,000 in July and $246,000 a year ago.  While a lot of factors can influence the average sale price, this trend is worth watching as an indicator of future home values.
