Where to Get a Free Thanksgiving Meal

Area churches and organizations have scheduled free Thanksgiving meals.

According to information provided by United Way's PA 2-1-1 East program, community meals will be provide Thursday at:

Jordan United Church of Christ, 1837 Church Road, at Route 309 and Walbert Avenue, South Whitehall, starting at 11 a.m. Food donations are always welcome, according to Lori Kehs, who is in charge of the dinner. Canned food and other items not used for the community Thanksgiving meal, Kehs said, will be taken to the food bank at Jordan Lutheran Church, 5105 Snowdrift Road, Orefield.

New Bethany Ministries at Mollard Hospitality Center, 341 W. Fourth St., Bethlehem, noon to 1 p.m. 610-691-5602.

St. John's United Church of Christ, 15 S. Second St., Slatington, noon to 2 p.m. 610-767-5554. Transportation and home-delivered meals for Northern Lehigh area residents can be arranged. Contact the church.

St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fellowship Hall, 36 S. Eighth St., Allentown. 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. 610-435-9065. Donations starting at $25 to sponsor a table are being taken. Contact the church.

St. Stephen's Lutheran Church, 1421 Turner St., Allentown. Service at 10:30 a.m; meal at 11 a.m. 610-439-8821.
