Help Pay Medical Bills For Foster Cats

Trexlertown cat organization needs money for medical treatment fund.

Medical bills don't come cheap, whether you have two legs or four.

That's why the Cat Shack in Trexlertown is looking for the public's help in raising money for its foster cats with severe medical conditions or who need emergency treatment. The shelter has taken to the website GoFundMe to boost its Prudence Emergency Fund, named for a cat who died in 2011.

"The Cat Shack's vet bills often exceed $150/cat for normal expenses prior to adoption," the shelter wrote on its GoFundMe page. "For the cats that come to us with emergency medical needs the cost can easily climb into the $1000s."

Their goal is $10,000, but so far they've just raised $550.

You can visit the site to donate. Categories range from "Pet Pal" (a $10 donation) to "Pet Pinnacle" ($1000).
