Pediatric Cancer Walk with CureSearch

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month.  The CureSearch Walk to Conquer Children's Cancer Together, is an annual, nationwide walk to raise money for children's cancer research. The Inaugural CureSearch Walk in the Lehigh Valley will be on Sat. Oct. 8, 2011 from 9:00 to 12:00 at Municipal Park in Bethlehem Township.

There are plenty of ways that you can get involved - register to be a walker or 'virtual walker' (if you can't physically be at the walk), create a team, volunteer or spread the word to encourage your friends, family and co-workers to get involved.  This very special day will include prizes, music, food, and fun activities for the entire family!

Every day 35 children are diagnosed with pediatric cancer - 7 of those children will not survive.  Children's cancer is the number one cause of death by disease in children.  There has not beeen a new drug developed in 20 years to help beat pediatric cancers.  Although the cure rate is now 78% - up by 30% in the last 20 years - it is not enough.  Our goal is a 100% cure rate and we can get there with your help.

In order to raise funds to continue to save precious young lives, CureSearch has begun hosting the CureSearch Walk to celebrate and honor all those whose lives have been affected by children's cancer, all while raising funds for more research.  95 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to fund childhood cancer research.

To further discuss your participation in our Walk, please contact Kelli Very, Regional Coordinator, at (732)737-4809 or Kelli.Very@curesearch.org.
