Brunell Defeats Casey in Supervisors Race

Write-in votes for supervisor Ed Earley not counted Tuesday evening.

Upper Macungie voters appear to have chosen Republican Jim Brunell  over Democrat Chris Casey in the race for township supervisor.

Unofficial results from Lehigh County late Tuesday showed Brunell defeating Casey with 70 percent of vote.

According to the county's voter registration office, Brunell took home 1,436 votes to Casey's 622 in the race for a six-year term.

It was not immediately clear how many write-in votes were cast for veteran supervisor Ed Earley, who had lost to Brunell in May and launched a write-in campaign in September.

County election officials were not sure Tuesday when those results would be counted.
