Winter Storm Bearing Down on Lehigh County

National Weather Service forecasts six-to-10 inches of snow with high winds.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for most of the Lehigh Valley, including Lehigh and Northampton counties, for Sunday night through  Monday morning with between six and 10 inches of snow expected.

A statement released from the National Weather Service at 3:24 p.m. Saturday said snow will spread over the area from south to north Sunday morning with winds speeds of 20-to-30 m.p.h. causing blowing and drifting.

The storm is forecast to last through early Monday morning.

The National Weather Service's statement said the storm could bring a significant amount of snow, sleet and ice accumulation and may adversely impact travel plans, causing hazardous driving conditions.
