Winter Storm to Hit Upper Macungie Friday

A winter storm warning is in effect for four-to-10 inches of snow. It will make Friday messy in Upper Macungie but the worst of the storm will hit New England.

The National Weather Service says a winter storm will bring snow, sleet and rain to Upper Macungie Friday into early Saturday morning. The National Weather Service has issed a winter storm warning.

The major impact will be in New England where a nor'easter-type storm could bring blizzard conditions and a foot or two of snow.

Here, the National Weather Service predicts 4 to 10 inches of snow; WFMZ predicts 3 to 6 inches for the Lehigh Valley.

Snow should develop Friday morning, then mix with or change to sleet and rain from southeast to northwest. Snow could be heavy at times later Friday afternoon and Friday night, the Weather Service says.

The storm should end early Saturday morning, with a chance of snow before 1 p.m. The remainder of Saturday calls for partly sunny skies with a high of 31.
