Weather Service Predicts Freeze and Fire

The National Weather Service upgraded its Frost Advisory to a Freeze Warning and also issued a Fire Warning.

The National Weather Service has upgraded the it issued Wednesday to a Freeze Warning for Lehigh County, effective Friday, April 6 from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. But likelihood of a frost or freeze will last through the weekend.

The NWS has also issued a Fire Warning. The meteorological condition – strong winds, low humidity and warm afternoon temperatures – can “create explosive fire growth potential.”

Some areas could see temperatures drop below 30 degrees overnight, according to the freeze warning. And due to an unusually warm winter and early spring, trees and flowers that have already bloomed could suffer damage.
