Spectacular fireworks wow crowd at Earl Adams Park

Community event hosted by Carl Schmoyer III celebrates 27th year.

Thousands of spectators gathered in Upper Macungie's Earl Adams Memorial Park and parked their cars along Hamilton Boulevard to watch the annual fireworks display by pyrotechnic wizard Carl Schmoyer III on Sunday night.

"Ooohs" and "Ahhhs" from the crowd followed each successive explosion of color timed to the music from loudspeakers. Traffic on busy Route 222 and nearby Route 100 nearly came to a standstill as motorists slowed to check out the show.

It was certainly one of the most spectacular displays this photographer has seen in the Lehigh Valley in recent years.
