Speaker: 'al-Qaida Blinds Us to Terrorism'

Emmaus resident and Lehigh University professor Ziad Munson to talk about what terrorist groups look like and how they form at the Emmaus Public Library at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13.

America’s obsession with al-Qaida over the past decade has blinded us to the most likely and preventable form of future terrorism, according to a Lehigh University professor of sociology scheduled to speak at the Emmaus Public Library tomorrow night.

Ziad Munson, who lives in Emmaus, will deliver a talk titled “The Great Red Herring: How al-Qaida Blinds Us to Terrorism,” at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 13 in the Gardner Room of the library.

During the session, Munson will discuss what a terrorist group looks like and how it forms and develops. The talk is described as being appropriate for adults and mature teens.
