Lehigh County Roadwork This Week

Milling and paving work on I-78 in Upper Macungie tops the list.

Milling and paving work Monday and Tuesday at the Interstate 78 ramps of eit 49 (Route 100) in Upper Macungie Township tops the list of PennDOT road work in our area this week.

PennDOT, in a release, said restrictions on ramps at exit 49 will take place between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Restrictions on the ramps will be in effect in addition to stopped vehicles. Motorists should expect delays.

Meanwhile, PennDOT is reporting roadwork projects in several other Lehigh County communities that could scuttle your commute.

PennDOT said drainage work on Kistler Road between Game Preserve Road and Closed Bridge in Lowhill Township will cause delays Wednesday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be lane restrictions with flagging and stopped vehicles in the work area.

PennDOT also said motorists in Weisenberg Township will encounter delays on New Smithville Road between Old Route 22 and Silver Creek Road for milling and paving work Wednesday and Thursday between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. There will be lane restrictions with flagging and stopped vehicles in the work area.

Evening and overnight work work on Route 22 between 15th Street and Fullerton Avenue for median barrier repairs in Whitehall Township will also grind traffic to delays between 7 p.m. Monday and 6 a.m. Tuesday.
