The national average for self-serve gas has increased for ten straight days to the highest price in more than a month, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report.
The national average this for a gallon is $3.588, up 4.9 cents from last week, but still about 14 cents lower than a year ago. But according to the report, the year over year difference will likely continue to fade due to higher crude oil prices and refinery maintenance that decreases supply.
In the Lehigh Valley, the average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.439 per gallon, 2.2 cents higher than a week ago, 8.7 cents lower than a month ago and 26.6 cents lower than a year ago.

In the Philadelphia market, the average price for self-serve regular unleaded gasoline is $3.530 per gallon which is up 5 cents from a week ago, .3 cent lower than a month ago and 25.9 cents lower than a year ago.
The Pennsylvania average retail price for a gallon of self-serve actually went down1.4 cents from last week $3.478, up 2.4 cents from a week ago.
