Pumpkin Picking in the Lehigh Valley

Halloween's just around the corner, so it's time to check out Patch's scoop on local pumpkin patches and farm stands!

Looking for the perfect pumpkin to carve a Jack O’ Lantern for Halloween or to round out that front porch fall display? From pick-your-own to farm stands that have done the work for you, Patch is here to help you find your perfect pumpkin patch in the region!

Here are some locations:

Bechdolt's Orchard --2209 Leithsville Road, Hellertown. Pumpkins are sold, as well as hay, fresh apples, fresh-pressed apple cider, homemade sauces and butters and local potatoes. Open daily, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Phone: 610-838-8522. www.bechdoltsorchard.com

Buzas' Greenhouse, 3927 Newburg Road, Lower Nazareth Township, has switched to fall hours and offerings, which include pumpkins and gourds. Greenhouse is open Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The corn maze is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday (to the end of October).

Faust Family Produce, 523 Nazareth Pike, Lower Nazareth Township, has small to medium pumpkins, large and downright massive pumpkins. Faust Family Produce offers hayrides to its pick-your-own pumpkin patch. Store is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Grim's Greenhouse and Farm Market, 9941 Schantz Road, Breinigsville. This family-operated plant nursery offers decorations, an annual fall festival, a pumpkin patch and a corn maze. There's a pick-your-own apple orchard. Grim's will also be part of the Lehigh County Open Gate Farm Tour on Sunday, Oct. 21. Open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Phone: 610-395-5655.

Juniperdale Farms & The Produce Crib, 1015 Browntown Road at the corner of Browntown and Fulmer roads in Plainfield Township. The pumpkins range from tiny to large and will be available throughout October, along with Indian corn, corn stalks, straw bales, and a variety of squashes and apples. If you want to pick your own pumpkin, the farm offers free hayrides to its patch. Stand is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Nazareth Floral Designs at Donahoe Farms, 589 East Lawn Road (Route 191), Upper Nazareth Township. The plump pumpkins are displayed on a wagon outside. Store is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. 

Pine Brook Hollow Tree Farm and Pumpkin Patch, 4301 E. Macungie Road, Upper Milford. Hayrides available 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Open Weekends beginning Oct. 13 through the end of October.

Saucon Valley Farmers' Market, Water Street Park, Hellertown. The market is a collaboration of farmers, businesses, artists and the like who set up stands at the park in Hellertown to sell pumpkins and much more. Hours are Sundays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., through late November. www.svfarmersmarket.org

Saucon Valley Fruit Stand, 1766 Friedensville Road, Bethlehem. Open Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Phone: 484-788-6887.

Seiple Farms, East Allen Township. Pick-your-own pumpkins on this family-owned farm. There's a 12-acre corn maze, pony rides and hayrides to the pumpkin patch. Apples and apple cider also for sale. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays; noon to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Phone: 610-837-0847.

Strawberry Acres, 1767 Clearview Road, North Whitehall. Take a ride to pick your own apples, or grab a wagon and pick a pumpkin from an open field. Open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturdays; 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Phone: 610-261-2323
