And, this type of a mid-July jump also mirrors historic patterns, according to AAA. The national average rose 17 cents per gallon in July 2011, and 16 cents in July 2012. The price this year has already jumped 12 cents in the first 15 days of July.

Locally, on Wednesday morning, according to gasbuddy.com, the Wawa fuel station on Schantz Road and the Sunoco Station on Route 100, slightly beat the Lehigh Valley average, selling a gallon of unleaded regular for $3.55 per gallon.
