Expect 120 Trucks Per Day, Ocean Spray Plan Says

Upper Macungie supervisors approve new traffic plan for Ocean Spray plant.

Ocean Spray's new Upper Macungie plant will bring five trucks an hour to township roads, according to a new traffic plan approved this week by supervisors.

By 2018, that number could jump to 8 trucks an hour, the plan says.

The township and Ocean Spray had been at odds over the company's traffic plan, which initially called for trucks to use Schantz Road. The plan approved by supervisors sends trucks down Boulder Drive to Industrial Boulevard.

Ocean Spray plans to open its 225,000 square foot plant on 44 acres between Schantz Road and Route 100 in the early part of this year.
