Ocean Spray's new Upper Macungie plant will bring five trucks an hour to township roads, according to a new traffic plan approved this week by supervisors.

By 2018, that number could jump to 8 trucks an hour, the plan says.

The township and Ocean Spray had been at odds over the company's traffic plan, which initially called for trucks to use Schantz Road. The plan approved by supervisors sends trucks down Boulder Drive to Industrial Boulevard.

Ocean Spray plans to open its 225,000 square foot plant on 44 acres between Schantz Road and Route 100 in the early part of this year.

Who cares now the damage is done. If they came in the middle of the night before six am. It might not have been such a negative impact on our community. Just another mess

DISGUSTING What was the payout to approve this? The board has an obligation to it's residents. What about quality of life for those for live there. I think we need to post signs so all the trucks pass by the supervisor's homes...
