Dorney Park Opens Saturday
Planet Snoopy and a Chickie's & Pete's are the new attractions.
opens its doors on Saturday, with a new Planet Snoopy kid's park and one of its two planned Chickie's & Pete's venues.
Gates will open at 10 a.m., and the first 2,000 people to enter will get a free Snoopy bobble-head.
Just one of the two planned Chickie's and Pete's locations will open Saturday. It will be an indoor venue across from the Sea Dragon ride in the park's center, serving up cheesesteaks, Chickie's cutlets, the restaurant chain's famous Crabfries and Crabby Sweets.
A second Chickie's & Pete's will open in Wildwater Kingdom May 28. The popular sports bar and restaurant chain is based in Philadelphia.
Planet Snoopy, will cover 3.5 acres of the park. Added in the $8 million makeover were seven rides, an amphitheatre and a Soda Pop Shop. Among the attractions will be a 40-foot-high Flying Ace Balloon Race, the Linus Launcher ride and Snoopy's Sky Ride, an aerial monorail.
The park will be open until 8 p.m.
