$2M Hilton Garden Upgrade Underway in Breinigsville

The renovation, with an expected April completion date, includes remodeled guest rooms, lobby, business center, pool and fitness areas.

The Hilton Garden Inn, located at 230 Sycamore Drive in Breinigsville, is in the midst of $2 million renovated that should be completed by the end of April, according to hotel General Manager Richard Sanchez.

Sanchez said the renovation will touch the majority of the hotel, including guest rooms, corridors, meeting rooms, the lobby and the business center.

"We started about three weeks ago," Sanchez said. "The hotel is 11 years old and it's time to keep up with the trend, especially with all the business travelers here."

The lobby has already started its transformation, with new chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. Lobby walls were taken out to create more of an open concept, Sanchez said.

"We're redesigning the whole breakfast area," he said. "We should have new furniture in by the end of March. We'll have new carpet, floors, vinyl and window treatments."

Sanchez said the lobby renovation alone will cost $300,000.

Once the lobby renovations are complete, Sanchez said, the renovations of the guest rooms and the meeting rooms will commence.

Pool and fitness center renovations have already been completed.

Sanchez said the hotel, owned by Harrisburg-based franchisee Keystone Lodging Enterprises, boasts 111 rooms and runs at an average 75 percent occupancy rate.

"We're sold out during the mid-week with corporate occupancy," he said. "Friday, Saturday and Sunday are soft during the winter."

However, Sanchez said weekend bookings in the summer pick up to boost total occupancy rates to between 92 and 95 percent.

"In the summer, we do very well, especially when Dorney Park opens up and with all the festivals in the area," he said.
