Spring VeloFest Moves to Sunday

"Largest cycling flea market in the nation" will open on Sunday to make things easier for bike sellers.

Valley Preferred Cycling Center's VeloFest returns to Upper Macungie in May, with one small but crucial change: the event will move from its traditional Saturday spot to Sunday.

The reason is simple: Saturdays are already a busy day for bike sellers.

"The weather gets warmer and bike shop owners see an large increase in traffic on spring weekends," the center said in a news release. "The change to Sunday will allow bike shops to stay open Saturday and attend VeloFest the next day."

VeloFest began in 1976 as a small trade session, and has grown into what the center has called "the largest cycling flea market in the nation."
