Parkland Freddy Winner to Perform at State Theatre

Trevor James, a Parkland grad turned professional actor/singer, will open for the New York Tenors.

Five years after winning a Freddy Award, Parkland High School graduate Trevor James is set to take the stage again at the State Theatre.

James will open for the New York Tenors when the trio performs at the Easton theater Nov. 30.

In 2008, he won a Freddy Award for Outstanding Actor in a Leading Role in Parkland's production of Les Miserables. He's gone on to appear in a number of professional productions, and getting his master's degree in vocal performance/pedagogy at New York University's Steinhardt School.

Theater president Shelly Brown said the New York Tenors were open to having James lead off their show.

"Trevor is a tenor...they are tenors...why not ask?" Brown said in a news release.  "And if people say that what we do for one, we should do for more, our answer is yes!  We agree.  We will do anything we can to help the kids that we know."

Tickets for the show can be purchased at the theater box office at 453 Northampton StreetEaston, by calling 1-800-999-STATE, 610-252-3132 or online at www.statetheatre.org.
