Upper Macungie Trick or Treat Night is Oct. 25

Upper Macungie will hold Trick or Treat Night on Friday, Oct. 25, keeping with the tradition of holding the event on the Friday prior to Halloween.

Upper Macungie Supervisors didn't want a repeat of last year's brouhaha when it came to setting the township's annual Trick or Treat night.

Tradition is that Upper Macungie's Trick or Treat night is scheduled on the Friday night before Halloween, to coincide with the elementary school celebrations that afternoon.

So, in keeping with that tradition, supervisors voted Thursday night to set Trick or Treat Night in the township for Friday, Oct. 25 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Last year, supervisors took heat from township parents for moving Trick or Treat Night to Oct. 31.

Supervisors made light of last year's faux pas, as they passed the motion unanimously.

A resident asked why Trick or Treat Night isn't held on Halloween.

"You can hold Halloween whenever you want," deadpanned supervisor Kathy Rader.
