Upper Macungie Dog Park Nearing Completion

The Upper Macungie dog park, located at Upper Macungie Park on Route 100, still needs grant monies for its completion.

The long-awaited completion of the , located in Upper Macungie Park off Route 100, is still contingent upon receipt of any available grant monies.

Fencing was installed on the property, which is right in front of Upper Macungie Park. According to the Upper Macungie Township Recreation Board, park rules signs have been ordered and will be installed shortly following arrival.

Rec board members say they have seen the park being used by residents and their dogs and feedback has been positive.

Applying for a grant to help to complete the park is still being explored.

The park covers about three-quarters of an acre, with pavement and double-gated fencing to accommodate both large and small dogs.

"Residents have said [opening a dog park] is one of the highest priorities in the township," board member Rich Kiser said earlier this year.
